RUDE! esp when you are shelling out $175 to sing karoke! as we figured out our $, there were 4 employees standing uncomfortably close to us just staring. Then, as we tried to get our money together, I noticed her rolling her eyes at us. I examined the bill and noticed that they overcharged us for the room, and charged us for an extra person, The cashier looked so annoyed to have to expend the energy to change the bill. Then paying the bill (note we had 9 drinks total and NO food and 3 hrs karoke) $200 ! ridiculous price. Then we were interrupted mid-song by an employee who needed our drink menu to show another group (they only have 1 menu in this place!?!?) then, (note each room has a phone) we were called and given a 10 minute notice at the end, and exactly 10 minutes later we had an employee come to the room and basically make sure we didnt get one extra minute that we didnt pay for.so cheap! No "thank you", no smile just a "get out " look. The videos that accompanied the songs were mostly strange asian people running around (i.e not the real video, rather a strange bootleg version) but we laughed it off.
JAPANESE KARAOKE NYC TV
took almost 30 minutes for them to adjust the temp (maybe it's a cheap plot to get u to buy their over-priced, small, weak drinks)? The music selection was great and the TV was a nice flat screen. Then we were given a small room, which again lacked atmosphere and was kind of uncomfortably small for 5 adults. We walked in and had to have our IDs checked (women 28-35) which I thought was a little goofy and unnecessary. The place is kind of bland, no atmosphere at all. HORRIBLE! RUDE EMPLOYEES! AND EXPENSIVE – So we chose Duet 35 for a girls night out, and we were quite underwhelmed.
